The terms governing your use of this site.
Draft for review. These terms are currently being reviewed by our attorney and may be updated before final publication. If you have questions in the meantime, contact us at hello@americanhomesteads.org.
Welcome to AmericanHomesteads.org (the "Site"), operated by American Homesteads ("American Homesteads," "we," "us," or "our"). By using this Site, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
American Homesteads is a directory and referral marketplace. We connect families with independent builders, educators, land professionals, suppliers, and other partners ("Partners") who specialize in homestead and self-sufficient living.
We are not a builder, contractor, lender, real estate broker, or educator ourselves, and we do not perform any of the services our Partners offer. We review Partners against our own published standards before listing them, but we do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any work, product, or service provided by a Partner. Any agreement you enter into with a Partner is solely between you and that Partner.
American Homesteads may receive a referral fee from a Partner when we connect them with a family who becomes their customer. This is a performance-based arrangement — Partners pay nothing unless a referral results in business. Receiving a referral fee does not increase the cost to you, and it does not change the standards a Partner must meet to be listed. Our goal is to list "partners we'd send our own family to," and we aim to be transparent about how our business works.
You agree to use this Site for personal, non-commercial purposes related to exploring the homestead lifestyle and connecting with Partners. You agree not to:
