Our published commitment — to every family, builder, and partner.
The Homestead Pledge is not a marketing statement. It is a published, public commitment — defining how we operate, what we stand for, and the standards every endorsed partner must meet before we send a single family their way.
We built American Homesteads on a simple belief: families deserve to work with people they can trust. These are the standards we hold ourselves and every partner we endorse to — publicly.
Every decision starts with one question: is this good for the family? Not the builder. Not our bottom line. For the family. We will never compromise on this — not for any partner, any deal, or any dollar.
We do not list builders or partners because they paid to be here. Every partner has been reviewed against our standards. We only endorse those we would send our own family to — full stop.
Our business model is public. Our referral structure is disclosed. Our standards are published. You will never wonder how we operate or why a partner appears in our network.
Jeremiah 29:5 is not a tagline — it is the foundation of why this company exists. We are built on the belief that self-sufficient living is one of the most powerful ways to protect your family's future.
This pledge is published, shared, and pointed to by every partner who carries our seal. If we fall short, we want you to hold us accountable. That is the only way trust is built that lasts.
— Jeremiah 29:5 (ESV)
The scripture that anchors everything we do.
Before any builder, educator, or service provider is listed in our network, they read this — and sign it. This is what our endorsement means.
By accepting listing in the American Homesteads network, I commit to the following — in full, without exception.
I. Families FirstI will place the needs, safety, and long-term wellbeing of every family above my own business interests. I will never pressure, deceive, or manipulate a family into a decision that does not serve them — regardless of the financial outcome for me.
II. Honest Pricing & ScopeI will provide clear, written estimates before work begins. I will not use bait-and-switch pricing, inflate scope mid-project without written consent, or charge for work not agreed to in advance. What I quote is what I stand behind.
III. Licensed, Insured & AccountableI hold active, verifiable licensing and insurance required by my state. I will maintain these in good standing for the duration of my listing. I understand that any lapse results in immediate removal from the American Homesteads network.
IV. No Pressure. No Games.I will never use high-pressure sales tactics, manufactured urgency, or deceptive framing with any family referred to me. Families come to me already trusting me — I will honor that trust every single time.
V. I Share These ValuesI understand that American Homesteads is built on faith, family, and the freedom that comes from self-sufficient living. I am not here simply to do business — I am here because I believe in what this community is building. I will represent these values in every interaction.
VI. I Will Be Held AccountableI understand that families can report concerns directly to American Homesteads. I agree to cooperate fully with any review. I acknowledge that violations of this pledge could result in removal from our endorsed partner network.
This pledge is our word to every family — and what we ask every partner to stand on. By applying to join our network, a partner agrees to uphold these commitments as a condition of being listed.
This is not a legal document. It is something more important — a personal covenant with yourself and your family. A declaration that you are choosing a different kind of life. We invite every American Homesteads family to take this pledge — not as a perfect promise, but as a north star. Wherever you are on the journey.
I believe in the God-given dignity of working the land.
I commit to building a life my family can depend on —
not borrowed, not rented, but built.
I will learn before I leap, plan before I plant,
and give more than I take from the soil and from my neighbors.
I will teach my children where food comes from
and what honest labor looks like.
I choose freedom — the kind you build with your own hands.
Freedom. Build Yours.
